All About The Blog
Welcome! Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to spend a few moments with me. I hope you'll comment, share and subscribe!
I'm going to use this blog to inspire you and me to love our homes more and stress less. Simplify housekeeping - find a great tip, time-saver trick, simple solution and reason to smile. Not fancy, just fabulous and easy.
I once had a crappy boss who used to say 'work smarter, not harder' which was his secret code for doing no work at all by giving it to others to do. He was a master of not doing much and coming out looking good. He did teach me that while my too-strong work ethic didn't matter in his arena, his work ethic could be applied to my housekeeping.
'Work smarter - not harder' became how I viewed my life at home. I also decided to take a deep breath, breathe out and let go of trying to impress anyone. If my house is a bit messy and dirty when a friend comes in, then it's okay. This is how I live. Things are always moving around. Things are in transit. Messes happen. That's life. And, by letting it go, I'm not bound to unrealistic expectations from me or anyone else. My friends see my house as it really is - a place filled with life, love and some periodic chaos.
I have a head full of tips and tricks I've learned about housekeeping. This spot is a place for me to down-load my over-busy brain and the 'useful bits of information' that clutter my mental space. Sometimes it will just be a few words.
Sometimes a photo. Sometimes it will be a reasonable-sized article. I
try to live a simple life without a lot of 'stuff' and I'm into keeping
our costs down. Interested?
Thank you for coming by - I hope you will find inspiration and things to enjoy, comment on, and share!

What Credentials Do You Have?
Well, I'm lazy, I have a house (and a spouse), and I'm the one doing most of the housekeeping. It's only a partially sane battle. I'm not about sharing the latest list of 'hacks' just because they're out there - I'd rather rely on things I know from practice. I worked in a 5* hotel during university and spent one inglorious summer cleaning rooms. Other than that, I have written online articles for HGTV Can, WNetwork Can, and Food Network Can... mostly house, garden, and crafty ideas. That was before the 3-hour/day commutes to mortgage-paying employment made me rather crazy and want to give up housekeeping entirely. Genuinely, I'm a homebody who'd rather be reading (and watching TV).

Photos, Usage and Sharing... Copyright is really hard to figure out on the web - original creators,
jurisdictions, public domain etc. I'm posting photos that are not my own
but have been sourced using image search tagged for use
with modification or for 'free use'. Creators deserve credit for their talent, time and
effort. If I 'share' photos from others' sites, the credit appears. If anyone sees a copyright infringement on my blog,
I'm sorry ... and I want to know about it. I will delete the photo
immediately. Any infringement is not intentional. Copyrights remain with the original creators.
